Ann L. Bush Morrell

"For I am woman ~ God's greatest creation,

Ann L. Bush Morrell, was born on November 17, 1938 in Champ’s Mine, Brooksville, Florida to the late Nelson Bush and Penkie Bush Roberts. She attended Moton High School and graduated in 1957. After high school, she completed her secondary education in cosmetology in 1958.

Ann then moved to West Palm Beach and set up shop. She later returned to Brooksville, in 1966 to set up shop and for more than 35 years, played her part in making the women of Brooksville more beautiful. She was also employed by the Hernando County School System. She retired from the school system in 1985. She also ran a small catering business, where delicious foods of all kinds were offered. Ann was also an awesome photographer.

In 1984, she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Jimmie Morrell and their newly rekindled romance resulted in a blessed union in 1986 where they were married until Jimmie’s passing in 2007.

She was a loving mother, and although, she only had one biological child, Tammi, she adopted and raised three others: Sylvia, Stephanie, and Rick. Prior to these children, she also assisted in the upbringing of Linda Stephens Baker and to complete the circle, she actively participated in the early years of Sabrina and Ry’Shaud.

She was a devoted, wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt. She leaves to honor her legacy a loving daughter, Tammi Duggs-Edwards (the late Mark), and grandson, Jaden Ellis Edwards. Children she raised as her own: Sylvia Godfrey (Emmett), Brooksville, Stephanie Perry (Elwynn), Tampa, William Roberts Jr. aka Rick (Aryelis), El Paso, Texas, Sabrina Roberts, Ry’Shaud Roberts, and Alycia Roberts all from Brooksville and one brother, William Roberts, Sr., Brooksville. Preceded in death were siblings, Mildred Bush Sims, Tommie Bush and Willie C. Roberts. One step daughter, Sharon Williams (Donnie), Clermont, one God-daughter, Naomi Butler, twenty more grandchildren, thirteen great-grands and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins as well as good friends.
