Obituary for Anna Victoria Georgiadis

Anna Victoria Georgiadis was born in New York on September 4, 1944 and departed this world on April 22, 2023. She was mother to her beloved twin daughters Juliet Cress and Phaedra Cress, Grandmother to Drew and Sean McGuinness, and sister to Electra Neel, a retired Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy. She was pre-deceased by her parents Dimitrios and Evangeline Georgiadis and her brother Nicholas Georgiadis.

She earned a BA from Paterson State College in 1966 and a Master of Education from William Paterson College in NJ in 1974. She was teacher licensed by the NJ Board of Education and taught for many years in Demarest and Emerson, NJ, later becoming a licensed real estate agent who served the Pascack Valley area then West Central Florida where she retired at the age of 74.

Anna lit up every room she entered and was the life of the party. She was the quintessential hostess and loved entertaining family and friends. Her personality was electric and her wit and kindness made her beloved by so many. She spoke English, Greek, French and Spanish and was a proud Greek Orthodox American. She was a volunteer copyeditor for the On Top of the World News and active in many community clubs. She was a talented and avid sewer, knitter, and crocheter and she was a lifetime volunteer, donating hundreds of handmade hats from the cradle to the grave for babies, elderly, and even penguins. She looked incredible in any hat she ever wore and amassed a collection second only to her shoe collection. Her outfits were always well coordinated and accessorized and the envy of many, adding to her charm and love of life. She dressed up her Yorkshire Terrier dogs in assorted handmade outfits, many of whom won “best dressed” contests to her delight. It was a life well lived and she will be missed beyond compare.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome GFWC Historic Brooksville Woman’s Club in Anna’s name where she was an active participant and a valued member. Donations go direction to the club: https://gofund.me/acdd26a4
