Obituary
Mrs. Berdie Mae Hopkins was born on April 23, 1944 in Allendale, South Carolina to the late Mr. Jake and Mrs. Rosa Bell Blake (Charleston). She entered into eternal rest on February 23, 2011 at Connerton Hospital after years of hard fighting. She was employed with Hernando County School Board as a custodian for over sixteen years.
She leaves the following loved ones behind to cherish many fond and wonderful memories, her long devoted husband of forty-nine years, Reverend Andrew Hopkins Jr. of Brooksville, FL; four children: Mr. Gary Lee Hopkins, Mrs. Velvet Owens(Daral); Ms. Rosa Brown (Tony Bowden); Mrs. Sheryle Brown (Michael) all of Brooksville, FL; one brother, John Henry Blake of Brooksville, FL; four sisters: Mamie McRae (Wallace) of Webster FL, Ann Nathan and Shirley Blake (Robert) of Brooksville, FL, and Ivory Davis( J.T.) of St. Pete, FL; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sister-n-laws, Aretha Proctor (Marvin) and Romie Lee Kincade of Brooksville, FL, three special people that also called her mama: Gloria Harris of Brooksville, FL , Pastor Elijah Harris Jr. (Darena) of Spring Hill, FL and Sharon Mathis of Tampa, FL., her devoted friend of many years, Mrs. Rosa Vasquez all of whom she loved dearly and many loving and caring additional relatives and friends.
