Brenda was born on June 4, 1958, in Chiefland, FL to Lillie Mae and the late Presiding Elder Richard Wormack. At the age of 1, her family relocated to Lacoochee, Florida, where they joined New Bethel AME Church. She attended local schools and held numerous offices. She graduated from Pasco High School in 1976. She married Clyde Carter on December 29th 1979, and traveled the world with him during his military career. From this relationship, three sons were born. After his military career ended in 1995, she & her family returned to Lacoochee. She renewed her membership with New Bethel and continued to be a faithful worker for Christ. She was active as the assistant Church School Superintendent, Church School Teacher, Trustee, Stewardess, Pulpit Aide, past local WMS President, past area YPD director and transportation ministry.  On October 12, 2009, after a short battle with breast cancer, Brenda entered into eternal rest with her Heavenly Father.

Throughout her life, Brenda was employed by several corporations such as TECO, Trilby Manor Civic Association, Lykes Pasco, Department of Defense, US Census Bureau, US Postal Service and Pasco Hernando Community College.
 
Brenda was also very active in the community.  She was active in helping bring communities back together. She was the treasurer of the African American Heritage Society of East Pasco County. She was also a member of the Tri-County Community Task Force and Neighborhood Watch Program.
 
She believed in education and helping all children achieve their highest potential. She provided tutoring to children in all levels of secondary education, as well as the college level.  She was a member of the School Advisory Council committees  for Lacoochee and Pasco Elementary, Pasco Middle and Pasco High schools. She was a  active participant in the College Reach-Out Program provided through Pasco Hernando Community College.
 
In 2003 continuing her quest for education, Brenda acquired her Bachelor of Science from International College in Naples, FL. After this accomplishment, she decided to further educate herself at the same college and in 2005, received a Master of Science in  Business Management. At the time of her demise, she was enrolled in doctoral studies at International College in Naples, FL.
 
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Wormack, father, Rev. Richard Wormack and nephew Terald McGhee.


She leaves many loved ones to cherish her wonderful memories: Three sons, Terry Leon, Jerry Terrell and Kerry Jamal Carter; Two Granddaughters, Nia and Taniyah ; Mother, Lillie Mae Wormack; Sisters, Louise , Annabelle, Doris, Vivian (Dicty), Shannon (Anthony), Constance Inez, Christi (Victor), Stephanie (Terry) and Yolanda all of Florida; Brothers, Richard (Ursula) in Germany, Willie, Donald Wayne, David and Samuel all of Florida; Aunts, Louise Philpot of Ohio and Daisy Starks of Florida; Godson, Deundrick Reed (Taffini) of Florida; adopted family, The Barkers and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
 
Brenda was loved and admired by a group of special friends and cousins: Cousins, Shirley Carter and Toni Stroman; and Friends, Betty Davis, Freddie Mae Reed, Wendy Goins  and Jennifer Brown.
