Obituary for Beannia AKA "Bonnie" Bell Gates
Pastor Evangelist Bonnie Gates, transitioned from this life to her Heavenly home on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at UF Health Shands Hospital, Gainesville, Florida. She was born in Inverness, Florida on August 2, 1959 to the Late Bishop Elease C. Watkins and Deacon Emmitt Watkins. She attended Booker T. Washington in Citrus County, but completed her education in the Marion County School system at North Marion High School.
A woman of God, a wife, and a loving mother, Pastor Gates aimed to perfect these titles as she became Holy Ghost filled in 1991. She was later called into ministry in 2004. While under the overwatch of the Late Bishop Elease C. Watkins God was molding his servant. Finally, in 2009 Pastor Gates became the Pastor of Faith, Hope, and Charity Anointed Church of the Living God Inc. of Summerfield, Fla.
She was dedicated to the foreign mission she had begun in Leogane, Haiti from 2014 – present. Her passion for cooking and feeding people was a bi-fold effort. Monthly, she sold church lunches to raise fund for the up building of God’s kingdom and gave away food once or twice weekly to those in need.
She leaves to mourn a loving husband Brother Charles Gates Sr.; 2 Daughters: Heather Gates of CoCoa Beach, Fl.; Shaneatha Gates of CoCoa Beach, Fl. 2 Sons: Charles Gates Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fl.; Jeremiaha Gates of Belleview, Fl. Her siblings: Dennis Parker of Tampa, Fl.; Roger Franklin of Miami, Fl.; Macy Ramsey of Gainesville, Fl.; Ronnie Watkins of Atlanta, Ga.; Timothy Watkins of Summerfield, Fl.; Johnathan Watkins of Belleview, Fl. Siblings who proceeded her in death: Emmitt Watkins Jr. and Beverly Watkins-Robie. 2 granddaughters, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
*After the services the family will be gathering at Citadel of Life Church, Inverness, Florida for the repast.
