Obituary for Beatrice Lacy Myers Carr
It is with our deepest heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of:

Pastor Beatrice Lacy Myers Carr

Sunrise:       August 23, 1934 in Huntsville, Alabama
Parents:      The Late Gracie Hartfield and the Late Alphonso Lacy
Occupation:          Pastor Beatrice Carr was an example of servant leadership. As a young woman she moved to Florida providing cleaning and household services in various homes in the cities of Trilby, Dade City and Brooksville. In 1982 she made a decision to go into the hospitality field working at the Holiday Inn which she successfully retired after fifteen years of service. After “her official retirement” Beatrice continued to volunteer at Sunshine Nursing Home until August 1997 when God called her into full time ministry as Pastor of The New Jerusalem Church of God Inc. – Brooksville under the leadership of the Late Overseer Senior Mother Flora M. Hemingway.
Church Affiliation: Pastor Carr confessed the Lord at an early stage of her life and in 1972 after a miraculous healing from cancer, she rededicated her life and Christian service at the New Jerusalem Church of God Inc.  – Brooksville under the leadership of Elder Leonard Hansberry. She faithfully served as choir member, devotional leader, minister, Sunday School Superintendent, Associate Pastor and Senior Pastor. Always in the kitchen, showing love or giving God the praise by singing the song “God is good, you know He is. He’s good all the time” in 2010, after 13 years of faithful service in the work of the Lord, Pastor Carr gracefully passed the mantle as pastor to her son while she continued to faithfully serve as part of the ministry team.
Family: She is survived by her husband of more than 29 years Deacon John Carr. She leaves to cherish her memories seven beautiful children:  John (Milagros) Brown; Harold Brown(Jennifer); Fred (Naomi) Cohen; Betty(Darrell) Starling; Herbert Myers; James Calvin Myers; Marvin (Monique) Myers.  19 wonderful grandchildren: Maribeth, Desiree, John, Teresa, Rodni, Belinda, Mylon, Creesie, Harold T., Trina, , Latarsha, Lakesia, Brian, Michael, Cecilo, Kino, Jasmine, Alexis, Danielle.  Thirty six (36) loving great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren who extends her legacy. She had one grandson Fred II who preceded her in glory.
Pastor Carr has a host of cousins, friends and neighbors who have been blessed, encouraged, comforted by her presence and who will truly miss the woman of God. She was truly a jewel in our midst.
Sunset:  Wednesday June 8, 2016 at 4:15pm at Brooksville Health Care Center in Brooksville, Florida.  She is in the arms of the Lord saying” I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
