Bennie Mae Trenton Clarke was born to the late John W. Trenton and Clyde White on October 20, 1930 in Brooksville, Florida. Mother Clarke was however, at the age of 8 raised by her step-father Alford Harnell Clark. Mother Clarke attended Moton a combination elementary and high school where she graduated in 1947. Mother Clarke attended Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) where she earned both her undergraduate and Master of Education.
Mother Clarke married the love of her life Deacon Ernest James Clarke on June 8, 1952. Mother Clarke was a lifelong member of Mt. Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church which was   founded   by  her  grandfather    Rev. Benjamin White. Mother Clarke taught at Moton for 16 years and 14 years at Parrott Middle School until her retirement in 1983.

Mother  Clarke   leaves   to  cherish  her memories,   daughters  Marsha Clarke of Upper Marlboro,  MD and Sylvia L. Gibson of Lakeland  FL ;  three       grandchildren, Courtney   A.  Everett  of Upper Marlboro, MD,  Deborah Hawkins (Lamar), and Julius Gibson both of Lakeland, FL; Sister, Lennie T. Lewis, Plant City FL; a special cousin James Robert Clark; and a host of nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
