Mrs. Carrie Veals Ellison
A Time to Be Born: Sister Carrie was born on June 23, 1938 in Hurtsboro, Alabama to the late Ossie and Annie Veals.
A Time to Live and Work: She married the love of her life Johnny Ellison on December 4, 1955; they relocated to Brooksville, Florida to start their life together. Johnny was called to glory on October 19, 1998. Carrie continued her Christian walk at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. After more than 30 years of service, Carrie retired from Lykes Memorial Hospital as a Certified Nurses Assistant.
A Time to Depart for Eternal Rest: Carrie Veals Ellison departed this life on November 11, 2009 at Oak Hill Hospital.
A Time to Mourn: To the union of Johnny and Carrie six children were born: Patricia (Walter) Moore, of Bushnell, FL, Barbara (Wilma) Johnson of Orlando, FL, Belinda (Ernest) Drake of Brooksville, Fl, Angela (Hedrick) Burns of Wesley Chapel, FL, Braddie Ellison of Brooksville, FL and Eric Ellison of Orlando, FL; twenty grandchildren, Lester, Corey, Jonathan, Walter, Andrea, Jennifer, LaShawn, LaToya, Chelsia, Marcus, Tevin, Tavis, Corwin, Brandie, Jeanie, Braddie Jr., Sydney, Ahman, Johnny Jr. and Ejessica Eleby (someone she loved like a grandchild); seven great-grandchildren, TiNajhay, Ashtyn, Jaleiah, TaCoreyian, Tristin, Brinyih and Destiny; A loving Stepmother and Father, Mary and Herbert Wallace of Hurtsboro, AL; one sweet sister, Louise (Marshall) Kirkland of Gary, IN; three brothers, Anthony (Doris) Veals of Brooksville, FL, Leonard (Joyce) Veals of Hurtsboro, AL, and Timothy (Renee) Veals of Columbus, GA; two brothers preceded her in death, Braddie Veals and Eddie Veals; “forever her in-laws”, James (Lucille) Ellison of Brooksville, FL, (Cassie) Ellison of Stone Mountain, GA, Bishop Herman (Ester) Ellison, Decatur, GA, Larry (Linda) Ellison and Katie (James) Morton all of Atlanta, GA, Arthur (Barbara Ann) Ellison of Lithonia, GA, Frances Pledger of Stockbridge, GA, Alice (Eddie) Turpin and Doris (Herman) Lawrence all of Decatur, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends...too many to name individually!
