Curlie Lillian Williams was born June 29, 1941 to the late John D.
Williams, Sr. and Carrie Holmes
Williams.
Curlie graduated from Moton High School in 1959, her best friend in school was Johnny Florence Harrington. Curlie was an honor student and she joined the Marine Corps at Parris, Island, South Carolina. After graduating from high school, she stayed in the Marine Corps for over 20 years and traveled to China, Japan, Germany and many other places. She was honorably discharged as Master Gunnery Sergeant. She made her retirement home on Lady’s Island Beaufort, South Carolina. She and her brother John D. Williams lived together during her latter years. She worked as a clerk for Wal-Mart before becoming ill and couldn’t continue working. She was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 12, 2018.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two loving and devoted nieces, Allena Williams of Lady’s Island, Beaufort, SC and Yulonda Mathis (Albert) of Spring Hill, FL; loving nieces, Angela Williams of Spring Hill, FL, April Williams of Brooksville, FL, Kimberly Hales of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Wanda Adams (Edward) of Tampa, FL; loving nephews, Alfred Williams, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Robert Williams (NeNe) and Howard Williams (Nikki) all of Brooksville, FL; two loving sisters-in-law, Stella Williams and Barbara Williams of Brooksville, FL; two truck driver nephews, James Lumsden, Jr. and Brian Thomas (she loved their trucks); a host of loving great nieces and nephews; two loving and devoted great nephews, Deven Straghn and Darrien Thompson of Lady’s Island, Beaufort, SC; a special great nephew, Albert Mathis, Jr. “Chucky” (deceased); a host of loving cousins and other relatives; a special friend, Kim; a loving and caring neighbor, Floretta Glover both of Lady’s Island, Beaufort, SC.
