Obituary for DAN DOUGLAS
Obituary
Dan Douglas
Deacon Dan Douglas was born on June 8, 1933 in Brooksville, Florida to the late Ambrose and Minnie Douglas. He accepted Christ in his life at an early age and was a member of the Church of the Living God in Brooksville for many years. Later, he moved to Inverness and became a member of Hernando Church of the Living God in Hernando, Florida.
Dan was a kind, loving, sweet and quiet person. He loved to go fishing and to beat on those drums in church. You would have loved to be around him, if you knew him, he always kept to himself. As his brother, Odell would say, “he was always the good one keeping us out of trouble.” He was loved very much for the person he was. He will be deeply missed. God called him home on Friday, July 25, 2008.
Dan leaves behind a wife, Florence Douglas; three devoted daughters, who will always cherish their father’s memories, Linda Faye Williams (Paul) of Ft. Myers, FL, Cora Lea Jackson (Harry) of Ft. Myers/Brooksville, FL and Renee Douglas Reeves (Clarence) of Ft. Myers; one brother, Minister Odell Douglas (Mamie) of Utica, NY; two sisters, Rev. Georgia Mae McCalop (Earl) of Brooksville, FL and Sister Flora Latham of Pompano Beach, FL; eight grandchildren: Lear, Dominique, Antawoine, Kizzie, Correca, Desiree, Oscar and Ray-Nique all of Ft. Myers, FL; fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
