Obituary for Dora Williams

On Sunday night, December 9, 2008, our beloved DORA DAVIS WILLIAMS departed this life at Shands Hospital, Gainesville, FL after a long illness. The daughter of the late Richard Williams, Sr. and Jessie Wormly Davis born January 15, 1948 in Uniontown, AL.
Dora was educated at Robert C. Hatcher School in Uniontown. She accepted Christ and became a member of the Living Hope Baptist Church. She later got married to Grady Williams and this union was blessed with three children.
Dora relocated to So. Fallsburg, NY where she worked at Imperial Schrade Company, Ellenville, NY. She was always a peoples person and started new employment at Monticello Hospital in the Housekeeping Department. After many years she returned to her home state Alabama where she was employed at Perry County correctional Facility as a cook/dietary aide for four years.
After becoming ill she went to Brooksville, FL to live with her baby (Kizzy). Her church affiliation was the Holy Band Deliverance Temple of Brooksville. Even through her illness she was a fighter, a strong woman that never complained.
She was always a hard worker no matter what task she chose to do. Dora had great joy when she worked in the house and yard with flowers, giving them names and talking to them constantly.
SHE TRULY LOVE THE LORD AND ALL OF HER FAMILY.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Samuel Williams (Felica) of North Port, AL; two daughters, Saundra Richards (Jerome) Richards of Uniontown, AL and Latricia (Kizzy) Williams of Brooksville, FL; sisters, Annie Mae Norfleet of Uniontown, AL, Ella Snowden of Monticello, NY, Leola Carter (Nathaniel), Lizzie and Willie Ann Davis of So, Fallsburg, NY, Alfreeda Harrington (Robert), Rose Williams and Geraldine Williams all of Brooksville, FL; brothers, Richard Williams (Ferris), Matthew Davis and Ronald Williams of Brooksville, FL, Johnny Davis (Tecra) of Middletown, NY and Charlie Williams of Silver Spring, MD; one granddaughter, Kadejah Williams; grandsons, Samuel Williams, Jr., Ronald Jenkins, Jerome Williams, Kevin Chandler, Tyler Williams and Courtney Smith; great-grandchildren, Simone Williams and Anthony Harris; God-daughter, LaTonya Randall; brothers-in-law, John Snowden and Robert Williams; sisters-in-law, Cassandra Davis; step-grandchildren, Michael and Michelle Gaines; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins , a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, James Davis, Ida Williams, Dorothy Snowden, Margaret Williams, Leo Davis, Jr., Rev. Frank Davis, Sr., Mary Chambers, Andrew Davis and Annie Bell Davis.
