Parents: The late Evander Simmons, Sr.
and Vera Delaine Simmons
She was a member of the Church of God in Christ for many years under the leadership of Elder Leonard Hansberry, which later became the New Jerusalem Church of God.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Mother Ruby L. Stewart of Tallahassee, FL; three sons: Edward Bentley (deceased), Earl Bentley and James “Leroy” Bentley both of Brooksville, FL; four grandchildren, Bishop Alvin Stewart (Lisa), Glendora Stewart (deceased), Valerie Stewart-Price (Tommy) and Christopher Stewart all of Tallahassee, FL; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kenyon Stewart, DeJuan “D.J.” Roberts, RaKeem Stewart, Jarred Stewart, Jerrod Stewart, Tavorous “T.J.” Stewart, Kanisha Stewart-Delaine, Christopher Daniels-Stewart, Talijah Stewart, Promiss Stewart, Jordon Stewart, Kennedy Stewart and Shavette Warren; three great-great grandchildren, De’Riah Roberts, Tyler Davis and Tyree Davis; three god-children, Carla Davis, Ashely Beacham and Akema Beacham; faithful nephew and niece, Wilma “Pop” Allen and Imogene Battle, a host of loving nieces, nephews and many friends.
Although she will be deeply missed, we will be comforted in knowing that she is at peace in Heaven with the Master at her side.
