Deacon Ernest James Clarke was born in Ellaville, Georgia on April 15, 1925 to the late Ed Clarke and Lousie Terry Clarke.Â
After graduating high school Deacon Clarke enlisted in the United States Army from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946. Deacon Clarke married the love of his life Bennie Mae Trenton Clarke on June 8, 1952. Ernest started working as a truck driver in 1962 for West Coast concrete and worked there until his retirement in 1992.
He was a life long member and deacon at Mount Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death his mother Louise Clarke; father, Ed Clarke; brothers John Henry and Sammy and sisters, Martha Lee and Dorothy.
He leaves to cherish his memories, wife Bennie T. Clarke of Brooksville, FL; daughters, Marsha Clarke-Everett (Charles) of Upper Marlboro, MD and Sylvia L. Gibson of Lakeland, FL; three grandchildren, Courtney A. Everett of Upper Marlboro, MD, Deborah Hawkins and Julius Gibson both of Lakeland, FL; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.Â
