Obituary for Elder Emanuel Turner
It is with our deepest heartfelt sympathies that we announce the passing of:
Elder Emanuel Turner

Emanuel was born the first child to Evelyn Marie Ellis and Emanuel Turner, Sr.He graduated in 1975 from Jim Hill High School in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended Jackson State University where he earned a BS degree in accounting.Â
Emanuel received the Lord at an early age at Greater Blair Street Church of Zion A.M.E. in Jackson, Mississippi, under the leadership of the Dr. Rev. Raymond Richmond.Â
Emanuel enlisted in the United States Army on July 14, 1981 and served his country until July 31, 2006. He retired as a Master Sergeant. After his retirement from the military, he received his BS Degree in Human Resources and two Masters Degrees, and started working on his Doctorate.Â
Earlier in life Emanuel was married to Jarry Dean Davis Turner, and to that union a son and daughter where born.Â
Emanuel moved to Ft. Stewart, GA and traveled to Brunswick, GA under the leadership of Bishop Harry Brown. He later moved to Brooksville, FL where he met and married Flora Nathan and joined Holy Band D.T. Inc. , Brooksville, FL under the leadership of Pastor Stella Williams. He continued to served faithfully as an ordained Elder and Associate Pastor under the leadership of Bishop Lillie Hanks until his demise.Â
He leaves to mourn his passing, a loving and devoted wife, Flora Jean Turner; five children, Emanuel Turner and Courtney Marie Turner of Battle Creek Michigan, Sabrina Roberts, Ry’Shaud Roberts and Alycia Roberts all of Brooksville, FL; two sisters, Patricia Hughes(Lacey) of Woodbridge, VA and Eloise Turner of Brooksville, FL; two brothers Rodney Turner and Timothy Turner of Jackson, MS; seven grandchildren (one preceded him in death, Ka’Marion Amerson); five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law, one God-mother, Bishop Rose Carter; one God-child, Ashariona Harrington; one God-sister, Bishop Iris Wright; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; two special friends, Gilbert Brown of Brandon, FL and Melvin Whitlock of Jackson, MS. Extended family Sylvia Godfrey (Emment), Stephanie Perry (Edward) and William L. Roberts, Jr. (Arelys).
