Mother Ella Mae Stephens Brown McAuley was born to the late Jack Stephens and Ella Bowens Stephens on September 17, 1939, in Brooksville, FL. Mrs. McAuley attended Moton High School and received her GED from Hernando County Adult Education. She retired from Lykes Memorial Hospital with over 25 years of service.
Mother McAuley was a faithful and active member of Mt. Pilgrim FWBC until her health declined. She served in the church senior choir, as well as, initiate campaign and fundraisers to assist the pastor’s initiatives and aide team. She was a soldier in the army of the Lord’s and enjoyed it . Mrs. McAuley was well known in her community.
Mother McAuley was first united in marriage with the late Lester Brown, Sr. and to this union three children were born. Later she married James McAuley.
She leaves to cherish her memory to a loving family: son, Lester Brown, Jr; two daughters, Patricia B. Williams, Windy B. Southall (Henry); grandson raised from an infant, Charlie “Chucky” Williams; other grandchildren - Lester Moore, LaKimbre Brown, Merilyn Brown, Aaron Brown, Monique W. Boyd (Titus), Patrice Williams, Keiafa Southall, Anton Southall; four great children; raised as a sister from early years, Jennie S. Thompson; sister-in-law, Bennie Stephens; longtime friends, Mrs. Annie Walker, Martha Maner, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
