Helen Elizabeth Williams-McCollom was born to the late Mr. Edward Williams and Ms. Beatrice Haywood-Williams on December 11, 1955, in Camilla GA.
At an early age, she confessed to Christ and joined Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla GA. She later attended services at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Hudson FL.
Helen Began her education at Camilla Consolidated School and graduated from Mitchell County High in 1973. She went on to study at Albany State College.
Helen worked at Mitchell Manufacturing until 1993, when she relocated her family to Brooksville, FL. She went on to work at Brooksville Regional and Spring Hill Regional in the dietary department until retirement.
Helen met Jackie McCollom in 1995 and they were married in 2005.
Helen was preceded in death by both her parents; brothers: Edward Jr. and Frederick; sisters: Richard-Dean and Ester; as well as her eldest son: Tony Jr.
She was survived by her husband, Jackie McCollom; daughter: Valary (Terrance) Smith; son: Reginald (Kimberly) Dukes; step-son: Edward (Tiffany) McCollom; granddaughters: Markesha and Jada; grandsons: Terrance (Deanna) Jr., Jaiden, Isaiah, and Dorian; great-grandchildren: Jhamad, Jhamari, J’Vonna, Ja’zaiya, and Jhalil; brothers: Willie Mathews and Kenneth; a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
God called Helen home on January 6, 2023 at Spring Hill Rehabilitation in Spring Hill, FL.
Helen was known for her sweet smile, loving nature, and being someone who all can talk to when needed. Affectionately known as “Ms. Helen” to all. She will be greatly missed.
