Brother James E. Grice was born on May 19, 1931 in Inverness, FL to the late Alphonzia and Samuel Grice, Sr.

He was educated in the public school systems in Citrus and Duval counties. He served as Private First-Class in the U.S. Army. Brother Grice was united in holy matrimony to Elizabeth King (a lifetime ago). He was converted at an early age as a member of St. James. A.M.E. Church (Inverness, FL). Later he became a faithful member of the Inverness Church of God.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth Grice. Four daughters: Marilyn Key, Nadine Redding (Michael, Sr.) and Yolanda Grice all of Inverness, FL. One god daughter: Dorothy Clark of Inverness, FL. Two sons: James E. Grice, Jr. (deceased) and Larry Grice. Two brothers: Samuel Grice, Jr. (deceased) and Alvin Nelson (Katherine) of Dunnellon, FL. One sister: Thelma Hairston (deceased). A special niece: Althea Franklin (Arthur Sr.) of Inverness, FL., fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
