On February 19 in the year 1953 in the city of Brewton, Alabama, the late Maggie Mae and Willie Lee Montgomery were blessed with a 19lb baby boy named James L. Montgomery. James was the brother of his sister the late Willie Jean McMillian. She was one of the loves of his life. As he grew into a young man, he signed up for the National Guard Army, but due to health issues he was honorably discharged and returned home.
Throughout the years, he worked for the City of Brewton and TR Miller Mill Company. In 1978 he met the greatest love of his life, Sharon, which later became his loving and devoted wife of 30 years. Though they shared no biological children, they raised one of his four precious children, Theresa Montgomery, who loved him dearly. In the year of 1985, James and his family relocated to Brooksville, Florida, where he was able to pursue his true passing “fishing”. He met many caring friends through this passion. James later joined Holy Band Deliverance Temple under the leadership of Pastor Rosa Waddy were he eventually served as an acting deacon under the leadership of Pastor Stella Williams until his health declined, and went home to be with his Lord on November 18, 2009.
