Obituary for JAMES SR. PERKINS
Obituary
Â
James Perkins, Sr. was born November 21, 1936 in Brooksville, FL to the late Rev. John Perkins and Lily Perkins. He was an only child.
James attended Moton High School where he was a member of the football team #26. After high school he had several jobs including Brooksville Cleaners, where he was considered one of the best pressers in the area. As a young man, he also played the steel guitar for various churches around Brooksville and other cities.
Perk as he was affectionately called had a zest for life. He loved having fun times and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. He was an avid golf player and loved sports.
On the morning of September 21, 2012, Perk’s Mansion was complete and he slipped from our grasp and into the Arms of our Lord; God summoned a husband, father and friend as Perk had completed and achieved his Heavenly Father’s earthly purpose.
Perk was preceded in death by both parents. He leaves to celebrate the life he lived: a loving wife, Gladys of Riverdale, GA; five daughters, Brenda Jones (Kenneth) of Bartow, FL, Tanya Kincade (James), Anita Scriven (Herman) all of Brooksville, FL, Keisha Perkins of Bridgeport, CT and Yaneries Perkins of Riverdale, GA; one son, James Perkins, Jr. (Kym) of Tampa, FL; four step-children, Anthony McGill (Laura) of Brooksville, FL, Audrey Redmon (Micheal) of Jonesbora, GA, Myra Codd (Glenn, deceased) of Mt. Clair, NJ and Vernon McGill (Marline) of Sanford, FL; thirty grandchildren, thirty-one greatgrands; Sister-in-law, Dorothy Tyson (Joseph) of East Orange, NJ, Brother-in-law, Jeff McGill (Lulabelle) of Paterson, NJ and a host of extended family members and friends.Â

Â
Dear Family & Friends,
I want you to know that I have moved. I received a call from God, the Chief Architect, who informed me that my new house is ready and I could move immediately. Well, my new home is finished and it’s such a beautiful sight to behold. It is located in an exclusive estate area and it sits behind a beautiful pearly gate.
There is peace, joy and happiness here with no more pain to bear, no strife or discontent. I could go on exploring around my new home., but I have to get fitted for my wings. Let me give you my new address because I highly recommend you make plans to live here too.

Oh yeah! Let me tell you this, I don’t have a new telephone yet, but first call God. If you don’t have His number. He is listed in the Good Book on every page. Contact Him.
