Obituary for JESTINE WASHINGTON-BURKS
JESTINE WASHINGTON BURKS  Sister Jestine Washington Burks, the daughter of the late Mallie and Maggie Sylvester Washington, the wife of the late Leonard Burks, Sr., the mother of the late Leonard Burks, Jr. was born in Brooksville, FL on May 30, 1914.  She was a devoted and faithful member of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, where she served until her health began to fail. On June 11, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. she heard the singing of angels, saying servant come home and she closed her eyes and went on to heaven with a smile.  She leaves to mourn her passing, a daughter-in-law, Willie Mae Burks of Tampa, FL; a devoted granddaughter, Etta Castillo of Brooksville, FL; granddaughters, Joan Lynn of Ocala, FL and Billie Mae Burks-Hicks of Tampa, FL; grandson, Leonard Burks III, Jerry lee Burks, Michael Burks, Jerome Burks and Bernard Burks all of Tampa, FL; devoted great-grandsons, Antonio Castillo, Tekova Castillo, Julius Castillo, Jagren Castillo all of Brooksville, FL, Kenneth Jackson of Ocala, FL, Jason Horne, Dontae Hicks, and Bernard Burks, Jr. all of Tampa, FL; great-granddaughters, Charlotte Jackson, Charlene Jackson of Ocala, FL and Ashley Hicks of Tampa, FL; god-daughter, Debra Hicks of Jacksonville, FL; godson, Kojak Burnett of Brooksville, FL; a host of great-great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Viewing:          Friday, June 16, 2006 ~ Brooksville, Funeral Chapel ~ 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Services:          Saturday, June 17,, 2006 ~ 11:00 a.m. Ebenezer Misssionary Baptist             Church 600 Wood Drive Brooksville, FL 34601 Dr. Burdell Strickland, Pastor  Interment:        Spring Hill, Cemetery  ~ Spring Hill, FL 34601
