Career History:
 
John graduated from Moton High School in 1961. He played in the band during his high school years. John joined the Marine Corps at Parris Island, South Carolina. He spent 8 years active duty and did a tour in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1971 as a Sergeant. He later moved to Los Angeles, California and graduated from Los Angeles City College where in received an Associate Degree in Human Services. He worked as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for over eight years. He moved to Beaufort, South Carolina to live the rest of his life with his sister Curlie. He worked in sales at Walmart Supercenter and he had many friends who loved and respected him.
 
Survivors:
 
He leaves to cherish his memories, one loving and devoted sister, Curlie Williams of Beaufort, S.C.; two sisters-in-law, Stella Williams and Barbara Williams of Brooksville, FL; six nieces, Kim Hales of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, April Williams, Yulonda Mathis (Albert) and Dionne Williams all of Brooksville, FL, Wanda Adams (Edwin) of Tampa, FL and Allena Williams of Atlanta, GA; three nephews, Alfred Williams, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Howard Williams and Robert (Alison) of Brooksville, FL; a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
