Johnie Jackson, Jr.
Johnie Jackson, Jr., also affectionately known as “Bro. Jack” began his assigned “Studies of Life” in Brewster, Florida on January 04, 1927 through the lineage of both the Late Johnnie Sr. & Ruby Jackson. He attended the public schools of PolkCounty and later enlisted into the United States Army, in which he participated in World War II. After many years of hard labor, Johnie retired from CSX Transportation Railroad in 1989, where he was employed as a trackman.
In 1950, Johnie married his wife of 44 years, Bonnie Chester. After 6 years of receiving much love, prayer and sanctification through his wife, Johnie accepted Christ as his personal Savior. It was under the leadership of Elder C. Green of Church of the Living God Pillar Ground and Truth that he began to cultivate his desire for spiritual growth and develop a servant’s heart. After being proven to be a man worthy of respect, “Bro. Jack” walked in the office of a deacon. He fulfilled every task that God placed before him, be it a trustee or deacon. He also fulfilled the great task of assisting his wife as she served as pastor of Church of the Living God which later became New Covenant Deliverance Ministries. Deacon Jackson remained faithful even after God called his wife home and his daughter, Pastor Ruby Burton became pastor of the ministry which is now known as In His Presence Ministries. Deacon Jackson later humbled himself under the leadership of his son, Apostle Faith Jackson and became a member of Proceeding Word Ministries of Brooksville, Florida until his spiritual commencement.
Deacon Jackson was a wealthy man spiritually; for he made it well known through song that “I’ve got Jesus and that’s enough!” In his 80 years of life Deacon Jackson has given of himself cheerfully, worked diligently, lived faithfully, loved honestly and touched the lives of others as he shared his life with his family, friends and community. May the work he has done speak for him. Deacon Johnie graduated and peacefully received his spiritual diploma for completing his assigned “Studies of Life” on Tuesday, July 03, 2007 at 12:15 in the afternoon. For it was truly another confirmation of him echoing that “Yes, God is real!”
He was preceded in a new life by his loving wife, Elder Bonnie Jackson, and his devoted sister, Sister Willie B. Pender.
He leaves to cherish the fruits of his labor, five sons: Johnnie Jackson III (Mary); Fredrick Jackson; and Matthew Jackson, all of Inverness, Florida; Marty Dean Jackson of Ocala, Florida; and Apostle Faith Jackson (Cynthia) of Brooksville, FL. Four daughters: Minister Annette Palmer; Pastor Ruby Burton (Michael), both of Inverness, FL; Prophetess Belinda Ragin (Harold) of Eustis, FL and Pastor Cynthia White (Arthur) of Miami, FL. One brother; Richard Jackson (Barbara) of Atlanta, GA and two sisters: Margarite Felton of Lake City, FL and Mamie Lou Poe of Inverness, FL; Thirty-four grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; God-daughter: Angel King and God-son Charles Graves II; Special friends: Nathan McMahon, Harrison & Rose Rogers, James & Patricia King, and Minister John Roy. He will also be missed by his sisters-n-law, brothers-n-law, nieces, nephews, a host of other God-children, relatives and friends.
