Obituary for James Gregory Chester
Obituary
Brother James Gregory Chester
James was born on September 02, 1963 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Lucy Ann Chester (Bailey). James attended Moton Primary and Brooksville Elementary school for a few early years before completing the remaining educational opportunities in Sodus, New York where he graduated June 1982.
Greg (preferred) was a very talented and well rounded individual with many hobbies. Converted at an early age, he served the Lord at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, whenever in Florida and used his God-Given piano playing gift to whoever was in need. He has played for the Church of God of Sodus, NY since 1975, while being active in other positions as well. Twenty plus years of music was given to the seventh Day Adventist Church of Williamson, NY.
Greg was a very active member of the community and believed in helping others in need by means of transportation, food box donations, baking or gifting. He also shared his voice every year for Martin Luther King Day services. Greg always believed in sharing a testimony and scripture about God’s goodness, to whoever was willing to listen.
Departing this life on March 31, 2016, James Gregory is survived by, Desmond Melton (brother) of Knoxville, TN; Vera Chester (grandmother) FL; Harold Bailey (step-father) NY; Edward Chester (Ethel) FL; Mary Bain (Bateman) FL; Muriel Major (aunt) FL; Melba Heath (Larry) NY; Wallace McRae (Mamie) FL; an unlimited amount of cousins, aunts, and many wonderful friends.
