Ms. Leaner Jackson was born August 12, 1935 to the late Mose and Beatrice Lewis. She departed this life on February 14, 2009 at 12:20 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son James W. Brooks.
Â
She was a devoted member of the Holy Band Deliverance Temple, where she touched many families in her community. She was also a devoted sister, mother and grandmother.

She leaves to mourn her memory: two daughters, Anne Lee of St. Petersburg, Florida and Fannie Allen of Spring Hill, Florida; one sister, Ethel Garmon of Indianapolis, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Ronnie Thomas, Regina Mclain, Dorothea Harris, Lasonya Caphart, Edward Thomas, Kendrick Thomas, Monique Redding, Bryan Thomas, and Anita Walker; thirty-one great grandchildren and one great -great grandchild; a host of friends and loved ones.
