OBITUARY
Lucy A. Bailey
 
Lucy A. Bailey departed this life on July 7, 2010.
 
Born on August 17, 1946 to Nathaniel (deceased) and Vera Chester of Brooksville, Florida. She attended Moton High School and graduated college in Leesburg, Florida with an Associates Degree. Converted at an early age, she served the Lord at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. A move to Sodus, New York opened more doors of opportunity for furthering her education by attending Oswego College. Lucy obtained employment at Finger Lakes DDSO State School System and worked there for 38 years as a Certified Nurse Technician, until retirement. The Lord’s work called her to the Sodus Church of God, where she met and married Minister Harold Bailey of 27 years. She was the mother of 2 sons, Greg Chester of Williamson, New York and Desmond Melton of Knoxville, Tennessee.
 
She leaves to mourn a husband, Harold Bailey; 2 sons, Greg and Desmond; mother, Vera Chester;  brother, Edward (Ethel) Chester; 3 sisters, Mary (Bateman) Bain, Muriel Major  all residing in Florida and Melba (Larry) Heath; and 2 special nephews Imani and Damani Heath, who she helped to raise; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles;  step-son, Alonzo Bailey;  step-granddaughter, Tanisha Bailey;  step-grandson, Alonzo, Jr.; a very special friend, Irene Roets of Wartrace, Tennessee, who was always by her side until the very end. Many wonderful friends and loved ones will miss her greatly.
