Obituary for LUTHER E CASON
It is with our deepest heartfelt sympathies that we announce the passing of our dear founder and owner at Cason Funeral and Cremation Services:

Mr. Luther E. Cason, Licensed Funeral Director/Owner
April 28, 1941 ~ November 29, 2015

Luther was born on April 28, 1941 in Dade City, FL.
Mr. Cason is the owner and founder of Cason Funeral and Cremation Services. He later expanded the business to include Cason Funeral Chapel, Cason Vaults and Monuments and Cason & Cason Limousine Service.
Historically, African-Americans have faced many challenges and barriers to achieving their ambitions. Mr. Cason was not deterred by these obstacles and strived to excel in every aspect of life. He also understood the importance of being an example for others in the community. He did not just support the community by monetary donations, but sought to make an impact on everyone he came in contact with.
His religious beliefs have undoubtedly demonstrated the size, selflessness, and commitment of his heart.  He served in several charitable organizations and local entities: Kiwanis Club, Salvation Army, Bayfront Health Center Board of Directors, Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, Frederick Kelly Elks Club, and Masons. Mr. Cason embraced being a lifeline in the community and sought to provide insight and knowledge wherever he was needed.
One can define their life in many ways: by the kind of employment one performs, by the role one has within the family, or by the position one has within the community. Mr. Cason attended and graduated from Moore Mickens High School in Dade City, Florida. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army for nine years, became one of the first African-American Flying Fixed Wing Aircraft Crew Chiefs, and attained the rank of Sergeant. Upon being honorably discharged from the Army, he enrolled in Miami-Dade Community College in Mortuary Science and received his Associate of Science degree in 1971. While attending Miami- Dade Community College he also served as the President of Mu Sigma Tau, a mortuary science honors fraternity. Mr. Cason became a licensed funeral director in North Carolina and Florida. In addition to becoming a licensed funeral director, Mr. Cason also worked as a frameman and testboardman for several telephone companies, an accountant, and held a real estate license.
Mr. Cason was a member and chairman of the Deacon Board of Greater Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Inverness, Florida.

Brown; Children: Joseph Demps (deceased), Luther Cason, Jr. (RoHonda), Juanita Graham (Michael), Charles Cason, Robert Redfield, Keisha Cason, Marlin Green, and Jermaine Green (Sarah); Brothers and Sisters,  William E.
