Parents: Father; John W. Trenton. But from the age of six she was raised by mother, Clyde Trenton Clarke and step-father Harnell Clarke. 
 
Education: High School: Moton High School in Brooksville, Florida, Class of 1951;
College: FAMU, Bachelors Degree class of 1955, Masters Degree class of 1956

Work: 1955-1957 second grade Moton Elementary, Brooksville, Florida; January
1958-June 1958 seventh grade Gibbs Junior High, St. Petersburg; Florida, 1960-1971 Simmons Elementary, Plant City, Florida, 1971-1991 Bryan Elementary , Plant City,
Florida ; Retired 1991 from Hillsborough County School Board District after 30 years of service. Then worked as a substitute teacher from January 1992 to November 1999 
 
Church: She was baptized at Mt. Pilgrim Free Will Baptist Church in Brooksville, Florida at the age of 12, where she remained a faithful member until the end

Affiliations: Lifetime member of Mt. Pilgrim Free Will Baptist Church, Brooksville, Florida; Mt. Pilgrim Free Will Choir until her health began to fail, Past Secretary of the FAMU Alumni Plant City Chapter, Past Secretary of the Order of Eastern Star Sarah Chapter #76, Ladies of the circle of Perfection, NAACP

Family: 1956 married Robert Carlos “Big Bob” Lewis. To this union was born two sons, Gregory Wayne Lewis and Robert Carlos Lewis, II.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis, parents, Clyde and Harnell Clarke; sister and brother-in-law, Bennie Mae and Earnest Clarke; special niece, Wachovia Almaria Sherman.

Leaving to cherish her memory: sons, Gregory Wayne Lewis and Robert Carlos Lewis II (Ursula) both of Plant City, FL; step-daughter, Pamela Rose (Willie) of St. Petersburg, FL; grandson she raised, Gregory W. Lewis, Jr. of Plant City, FL; sister-in-law , Doris Sherman (John) of Valrico, FL; very special cousins, Deacon James Robert Clark (like a brother) of Dunnellon, FL; Gwendolyn Williams (Willie) of St. Petersburg, FL; special niece Marsha Clarke of Crofton, MD; and special nephew John S. Sherman (Devra) of Riverview, FL; Grandchildren: Shavonne Hillery, Lennitra Lewis, Monica Lewis, Whitney Martinez (George), Mediatra Lewis, Jahiem Wilson, Harmony Lewis and Robert C. Lewis III (the twins); great-grandchildren, Jaylen Reed, Josiah Martinez, Yeshua Martinez, Marquavian Lewis, Ga’siyah Lewis and Jac’quese Lewis ; 5 step-great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-great-grandchildren, a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also wanted to recognize her special group of classmates friends from Moton High: Marjorie McGriff (like a sister), Bessie Mae Enmond, Ruby E. Hart, and Walter T. Reese: from FAMU, Almeda T. Montgomery, Vivian Williams, Claritta Freeman, Endia Thomas and Irene Hasty (like a sister).
