For everything there is a season, and a time to every matter under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

A Life For The Lord

Lucille Mitchell Young (Cillie) began her journey on February 8, 1929 to the late Mose and Rosetta Mitchell in Marion Junction, Alabama.

At 9 years old, Lucille, along with her parents, made their journey to Brooksville, FL. She obtained the fullness of God’s Gospel  at an early age, and began attending Allen Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church. It was there where she spent much of her time serving the Lord, as a trustee, secretary, member of the senior choir, and a member of Queen Elizabeth Chapter 122 Eastern Star and Lillie White, and there she met many of her life long friends. Everywhere Lucille went, she was not afraid to proclaim what the Lord has done for her and the many blessings He has poured out. One of those blessings came in the form of a Godly man named Leslie Young, and two beautiful daughters, Gracie Ann Spears and Loretta Robinson.

Lucille blessed many as God blessed her with, a loving tender heart. She had a warm personality that followed her everywhere she went and showed up in every conversation she had. Her friends and family meant the world to her.  Lucille always talked about making it over. Now she can finally say, “Over, Over; I made it, Over.”

Lucille now joins her husband in Heaven, the late Leslie Young, along with the family  and many friends gone before her.

She will be missed but not forgotten: two daughters, Loretta Robinson (Dale), Gracie Ann Spears all of Brooksville, FL; one step daughter, Rose Marie Young (Hubert) of New York; one brother, Clarence Mobley of Brooksville; two grandsons she raised as her own; Demond Pope (Danielle) and Darius Robinson; two sisters-in-law, Attilla Young of Canada and Louise White of Brooksville, FL; one brother-in-law, Newton Young of Chicago, IL; nephews she would mention in almost every conversation she had, Doug Maura (Liz), Freddie Maura (Kinsey), Robert “Junior” Spears (Daphne) and Errol “Micky” Jones (Sandra); one step-son Kenneth Young of Jamaica; two God-daughters, Valerie Williams (Arthell) and Lisa Roundtree all of Brooksville, FL; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Her Motto:
“What’s your name? Puddintain…
Ask me again I’ll tell you the same.”
