MAGGIE WILLIAMS

GOODSON
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:7
On March 12, 2011, the Lord strolled through His garden and picked one of our most beautiful flowers, Maggie Williams-Goodson at Hospice Care Center, Brooksville, FL. She was born on January 19, 1931 to the late Willie & Inez Hill in Starksville, MS.
Maggie attended public school in Starksville, MS.  She moved to Uniontown, AL and was married to the late Richard Williams, Sr.. They resided  in Alabama for a few years and later relocated to Brooksville, FL.  This union was blessed with eleven children.
She was employed at Brooksville Regional Hospital as a dietary aide. Maggie was a faithful member of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Pastor Aide Auxiliary.
In 2001, she was united in matrimony to Lonzie Goodson, Sr.. They worked together at Eastside Farmers Market, their vegetable stand meeting and greeting people.
She was affectionately known as Maggie, Momma, Mrs. Mag, Grandma, M.B. and was a loving wife, and mother. She loved people and would give her last to anyone that was in need. Ask her and it was given. She was a strong woman and the matriarch of her family. She was out spoken and would tell you like it is.
Maggie loved to praise the Lord and did not mind telling how good God was to her. She was a community mother, grandmother and friend to many. Two children preceded her in death, Margret Pope and Ida Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Lonzie Goodson, Sr.; six daughters, Dorothy (John) Snowden, Ella (Levon) Snowden of Monticello, NY, Dora Williams of Uniontown, AL, Alfreeda (Robert) Harrington, Geraldine Williams and Rose Williams all of Brooksville, FL; five sons, Charlie (Deanna) Williams of Silver Spring, MD,  Leo Davis of Worchester, MA, Richard (Ferris) Williams, Jr., Ronald (Tina) Williams, Dwayne (Joyce) Williams, Sr. of Brooksville, FL; one stepson, Lonzie Goodson, Jr. of Tampa, FL, two sisters-in-law, Supt.
