MARY HOLLIS SCRIVEN
Mary Scriven was born in Hernando, Florida, September 12, 1948 to the late Willie and Mildred Hollis. Mary attended Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church of Hernando, Florida.
Mary always served those around her giving of herself without complaint. She worked as a home health provider attending to the needs of those who were unable to take care of themselves.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and an extraordinary grandmother. Preceding her in death, her father, Willie Hollis, Sr., her mother, Mildred Hollis, six brothers and sisters; Rose Marry Houston, David Hollis, Thomas Jefferson Hollis, Anne Mae Brown, Ulysees Hollis, and Willie Mae Hollis.
She leaves behind her husband Lewis L. Scriven; three daughters, Danita Eatman (Timothy), Kiwanis Roberts (Virgil) and Chloé Poe (Brian); nine grandchildren, LaShunté Scriven, LaTerica Scriven, Antoin Scriven, Brianna Poe, Timekka Eatman, Brian Poe, Jr., Timmeya Eatman, Dorian Nelson, and Virsha Roberts; two great grandchildren, Taniya Atkins and DaMari Morris; six sisters and brothers, Willie Hollis, Bertha Houston, Zebedee Hollis, Morris Hollis, Martha Lee Fisher, and Herbert Hollis; a loving mother-in-law, Earnestine Schlueter; five brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law, her best friend, Gladys Washington, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She epitomized the nature of a true servant. She was the most humble, loving, giving person we knew.
