Obituary
Maurice Mozell Battle, Jr.
A Time to Be Born:
Maurice Mozell Battle, Jr. was born August 19, 1965 in Brooksville, Florida. He was born to Imogene Battle and the late Mozell Battle, Sr.
A Time to Live:
“I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that place in the close of the day.”
Maurice known to many as “Mose”, received his education from the public schools of Hernando County. Mose worked a portion of his life, as a laborer at Florida Crush Stone. Mose attended, the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late, Elder Leonard Hansberry. This church later became the New Jerusalem Church of God, Brooksville.
A Time to Leave:
“Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief;
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wants me now, He has set me free.”
On January 13, 2010, the “Book of Life” closed for Maurice Mozell Battle, Jr. He closed his eyes in a peaceful slumber. “Mose” will be missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death, by his father, Mose Battle, Jr., known to others as “Big Mose”.
