Mose McCrimager

Mose McCrimager was born to the late Frank and Mary Ann McCrimager, Sr. on October 20, 1917 in Alachua County, FL. He relocated to Inverness/Hernando, FL as a young man. There, he met and married Thelma Henderson in December of 1938. They had no children. But, Mose did father a child, Princess Lee, through a previous marriage. Both, Princess Lee and his wife, Thelma, preceded him in death.

Mose was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church and a life member of the Elks Lodge #1270. He was employed by Florida Crushed Stone Company for a number of years from which he retired. There were other miscellaneous jobs he held, including one as a welder. In failing health, his legal guardian and nephew, Samuel Ford, had Mose moved back to Gainesville, FL where he remained the last several years of his life.

Mose stepped out of time into eternity during the early morning hours of October 23, 2009.

He is survived by his oldest sister, Willie Mae Ford, of Gainesville, FL; one grandson, the Reverend Willie Lee Brown, Jr. (Cynthia) of Jacksonville, FL; a great-grandson, Willie L. Brown III of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a great-granddaughter, Katiesha A. Brown of Oklahoma City, OK; a great-great-granddaughter, Tyniesha Dixon of Tifton, GA; his guardian/caretakers, Mary Frances and Samuel Ford of Gainesville, FL; and other nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
