Margaret Simmons was born on August 18, 1952 in Hernando, Florida to the late Leroy Leaks and Ruth (Leaks) Twiggs.

She was united in holy matrimony to Rev. Robert Simmons, Sr., on July 19, 1974.
A Time Of Growth:
She graduated from Citrus High School and went to work for Avante of Inverness. In 1974 she went to work for Florida Power Corp for 29 years. Â

A Time To Serve:
She served tirelessly at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church as Church Secretary, Sunday School Teacher and Youth Mentor until her husband was ordained and appointed Pastor of St. John A.M.E. Church, Weirsdale, Florida in 1992.

A Time To Remember:
Margaret Simmons was a dedicated, loving wife, mother, spiritual mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, mentor and friend.
