Mary was born on March 3, 1956 to the late Frank Maner, Sr. and Jearline Maner. She was the fourth of six children born to this union. She was born and raised in Brooksville, Florida and attended Hernando High School.
MaMa was a very “tell-it-like-it-is” person who loved her family and friends. Spending time with family and friends was her favorite hobby, next to her love for cooking. She was a long time employee of what are now known as Brooksville and Spring Hill Bayfront Health, where she spent many years as a cook. MaMa loved the art of cooking and spent most of her time sharing sacred recipes and delicious cuisine with family and friends. Her food, smile, and sense of humor are what every family member looked forward to each time they met. She was honest and compassionate and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories, a loving mother, Jearline Maner of Brooksville, FL; four daughters, Angela Maner (Jimmy) of Brooksville, FL, Debra Hopkins (Pastor Al) of Crystal River, FL, Kenya Pickering of Brooksville, FL and Nicole Pickering (deceased) of Queens, NY; one son, Jermele Pickering of Queens, NY; her soulmate of 20 plus years, Timothy King of Brooksville, FL; one sister, Mary Harris (Michael) of Brooksville, FL; three brothers, Joseph Maner (Martha) of Brooksville, FL, Frank Maner, Jr. (Mary) of Orlando, FL and Henry Maner (deceased); one uncle, Leroy Maner of Allendale, SC; three aunts, Sarah Roush of Sandford, FL; Mammie Frazier of Groton, SC and Mary Helen Fraizer of Barton, SC; seven grandchildren, Da’Meshia Sanders, Raqu’el Washington, Carina Hall, Demarcus Maner, James Badger, Jr., Jamerson Badger and Ja’Marion Badger (deceased); five great-grandchildren, Harmonie Sanders, Malachi Woods, Ja’Marion McFadden, Marque Brown, Jr. and Jeremiah Badger; nineteen special nieces and nephews that she had a very special bond with. Four devoted friends Sandra Burnett Strother, Martha Maner, Kenya Tucker and Denise Paige (deceased). Special cousin Jackie McRae and a host of other sorrowing family and friends.
