Obituary for NAPOLEON MASON
NAPOLEON MASON Napoleon Mason was born in Summerdale, Alabama on December 2, 1943 to the late George Mason, Sr. and Lealer Barns Mason. He attended Moton High School and obtained his high school diploma from Adult and Community Education on June 11, 1976. Napoleon met and married his childhood sweetheart, Ruby McCray, on May 19, 1969. Shortly after marrying, he enlisted in the United States Army and fought for his country in the Vietnam War (December 2, 1968 – July 18, 1970). He received several awards for his “meritorious service” and “faithful performance.” After receiving an “honorable” discharge, Napoleon returned to the United States and began working as a landscaper for the late John D. Law and his wife Carolyn. After their passing, Napoleon continue to work for their daughter JoCarol Law Durham and her husband Henry. His span of service was 36 years. Napoleon also worked as a landscaper for Margaret Ghiotto and Marybell Rogers of Rogers Christmas House. He was a devoted husband, father , grandfather, and friend. Napoleon lived life to the fullest and will leave behind to cherish his sweet memory his loving wife, Ruby Mason of Brooksville, FL; three daughters Tangela Mason of Brooksville, FL, Tawanda Mason of Brooksville, FL and Trinette Mason of Brooksville, FL; three sons Napoleon Mason, Jr. of Dade City, Philp Hopkins of Brooksville, FL and Lamark Hopkins of Brooksville, FL; grandchildren, Nakia Brackins, Napoleon Mason III, Robert Waddy, Jr., and Raven Mason; special nephew Erick King of Brooklyn, NY, special niece Keosha Hilary of Brooksville, FL, and special friends - Henry and JoCarol Durham of North Carolina, Robert Waddy of Brooksville, FL and Carl Fagin of Brooksville, FL. He will be remembered by his siblings: sisters, Geraldine Badger (Lucius) of Brooksville, FL, Mary Craig, Linda Barrington, Patricia Liles all of Philadelphia, PA and Zona Mason of Lakeland, FL; brothers, George Mason, Jr. (Barbara) of Brooksville, FL, Herman Mason (Pamela) of Federalsburg, MA, Charles Mason (Mary Ann) of Navarre, FL, Tommy Mason (Harriet) of Brooksville, FL, and Joe Stanley (Kathy) of Brooksville, FL; aunts, Lucinda Elder, Almeta Hardin both of Brooksville, FL and Fannie Mae Barns of Grandridge, FL. He was preceded in death by Georgia Harrington, Martha Tisdale and Edward Mason. Napoleon leaves to cherish his memories his sisters-in-law, Barbara McCray of Brooksville, FL, Christine Clark (Jeremiah/deceased) of Sarasota, FL; Mae Lois McCray (Clyde) of Far Rockerway, NY; Sheryl McCray of Brooklyn, NY; and Leola McCray of Forth Worth, TX. Brothers-in-law, John McCray of Tampa, FL, Benon McCray (Barbara) of Bridgeville, DL; Willie McCray of Ochoobee, FL. He also leaves to mourn a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, and friends.
