He was born September 07, 1925, to the parents of Belfry and Mamie Mayo.

Deacon Mayo was a member of First Baptist Church where he worked on the Deacon Board for many years. A retired educator, teaching elementary education in Arcadia, Florida. A retired solider of the Army. A Laborer of love toward his family, relatives and friends.

A Time of Joy
He loves attending church activities, singing hymns, going to the South Brooksville Meal Site daily, chewing and chatting with his family and attending family celebrations.
Â
A Time to Die
God called him home to a final resting place June 4, 2013.

A Time to Mourn

To cherish his loving memories; five nieces, Bettye Morgan, Mamie Sanders, Brenda Mobley all of Brooksville, Florida, JoAnn Harris of Tampa, Florida and Eunice Murray of Washington, D.C.; nephew, Harry Washington (Evelyn) of Brooksville, Florida; niece, Juanita Washington of Brooksville, Florida; cousins, Dr. Lewis Curtwright, and Jessie Simmons of Orlando, Florida, Mercina Tucker of Los Angles, California; A devoted house keeper, Charlene Jeffers; devoted personal care taker, Lynda Sectari; special friends, Emma Foster, Ruth Wright and Geneva Jackson all of Daytona Beach, Florida; also other cousins, relatives and friends.
