Obituary

OBRARY McKINNON, JR.

I hear the Savior say, “thy strength indeed is small, child of weakness watch and pray, find in me thine all and all.”

Death is just a detour along life’s winding way that leads God’s children to a bright and glorious day. The book of life opened for Orbary McKinnon, Jr. on April 29, 1957 in Ocala, Florida. Orbary Jr. was the third child born to Orbary McKinnon, Sr. and Betty Davis-McKinnon.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorship of Reverend James Brooks.

He attended the public schools in Citrus County Florida. He was a graduate of Crystal River High School, class of 1975. Participating in football, basketball and track, where he was the 1975 state champion in the 330 meter hurdles.

He enlisted the United States Army in 1975 and was honorably discharged in 1978.

In the year of 1992, he was joined in holy matrimony to Ethel M. Williams. To this union two sons were born, Orbary Randall and Cordero Trayon McKinnon.

He was well loved by family and friends. On the evening of April 28, 2008, Orbary Jr. heard the voice of Jesus say, “come to me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give your rest.” He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Ethel Williams-McKinnon; sons Orbary Randall and Cordero Trayon; parents Orbary McKinnon, Sr. and Betty Davis-McKinnon; two brothers, Cornell J. Parker (Debra) of Des Monies Iowa and Warren D. McKinnon of Dunnellon, Florida; three sisters, Sylvia McKinnon-Wade (Henry), Marunda V. Denson (Eddie) and Tammy P.
