Obituary for Ollice C Holden
Ollice C. Holden was born on April 22, 1943 in Decatur Alabama to Ethel Mae Stevenson and William Holden.
Ollice was raised by his mother and aunt, Lucy Parker. He attended Decatur schools and graduated from Lakeside High School in 1961. He graduated from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1965 with a BA degree in Business Administration. He moved to Chicago in 1965.
Ollice was preceded in death by his mother Ethel Mae Stevenson, father William Holden, aunt Lucy Parker and his daughter Pamela Y. Holden.
Ollice held many management positions over his long career. He served as Director of Manpower Development and Training Programs, which entailed on the job Apprentice Training for the construction industry. He also served as Operations Staff Analyst and Vice-President/Manager for Continental Illinois National Bank in Chicago. He managed a large staff and directed wholesale and Retail Lockbox product services.
Ollice became the Regional Director of the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Management Service in Chicago in 1990. In that position he provided financial advice, technical and operational support in partnership with federal agencies and financial institutions throughout the region. He served as Treasurer and President of the Chicago Federal Executive Board. He also held multiple positions at the USDA Food and Nutrition Service and retired from federal service January 2013 as Regional Administrator of the Midwest Region in Chicago, Illinois.
For many years he was active in the Chicago Area Fisk University Alumni Association and served as President of that Chapter.
Ollice leaves to cherish his memories his wife Alice C. Holden, daughter Monica Holden, stepsons Corey Jones, Frank (Sheena) Anderson, Matthew Wiley, granddaughter Briana Holden, sister Clara Byrd, brother Jonathan (Elke) Stevenson, and a host of sorrowing relatives and friends.
