On December 5, 1962 Phillip moved to Brooksville, FL from Yazoo, Mississippi where he met Willie Mae and married her for 46 years. In 1972, he joined Allen Temple A.M.E. Church and became a member until his passing. He was a member of the Fredrick Kelly Elks Lodge #1270. He worked 4 years for G.O. Parrott Grassing Company and 41 years for Camp Mine, Florida Crush Stone, Rinker Materials and Cemex, then he retired. On Sunday July 17, 2011 in the morning, God called him to come home.
Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death, Eddie Hoskin, Rosevell Hoskin and Betty Jean Bradley-Hoskins.Â
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Willie Mae Hoskin of Brooksville, FL; three daughters, Loretta Sanders (Franklin) , Cynthia Hoskin and Phyllis Hoskin-Goodson (Alfonsa) all of Brooksville, FL; two sons, Phillip Hoskin, Jr. of Brooksville, FL and Joe Jerry Booker (Mary) of Uniontown, AL; six sisters, Florece Mae, Dorothy Jean, Mildred, Bettey Jean Hoskin all of Lancaster, PA, Ethel Mae Hoskin Jones of Jackson, MS, and Pearlie Mae Hoskin of Bugulou, LA; five brothers, George Hoskin, Jr. (Gwen) of Brooksville, FL, Earl Hoskin (Venna) of Washington, D.C., Shelby Hoskin (Karen), Jimmy Hoskin, and Spivey Hoskin (Josey) all of Lancaster, PA; first cousin Herbert Morton of Chicago, IL; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, God-daughter, Alice Rawls and devoted friend to the family Lila Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
