Sister Ruth E. Cue

This day, we celebrate the homegoing for one of God’s children Sister Ruth M. Cue was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday January 28, 2009 at 3:08 P.M. at Brooksville Health Care Center. She was born on July 30, 1916 to William Washington Staggers and Leila Jane Brown in Ocala, Florida. She attended school at Howard Academy in Ocala. Sister Ruth M. Cue accepted Christ at an early age at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida, under the leadership of her grandfather, Reverend Henry Isaac Staggers.

Sister Ruth Cue married Mr. Samuel Cue, Sr. to this union, (3) children were born. In 1939, they relocated to Brooksville, Florida. Sister Cue joined Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in 1940 under the leadership of Reverend W. M. Mobley. She was a very dutiful and dedicated member. She worked in various areas, such as a volunteer at The South Brooksville Senior Services, a member of the Widows Club. She held membership with both The Elks and Sunshine Clubs, and she was a very dedicated Deaconess of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. (2) children preceded her in death, Essie Mae Cue and Samuel Curtis Cue, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a very loving and devoted daughter, Leila M. Jackson, (1) Aunt, Hattie Staggers Butler of Ocala, FL; (2) cousins, Sterling Staggers of Orlando, FL and Willie B. Curry of Ocala, FL; (1) nephew, Isaac Cue of Gainesville, FL; (3) grandchildren, Carol Jackson, Leonard Jackson (Penny) and Beverly D. Warren, all of St. Petersburg, FL; great grandchildren, Rodney Jackson (Jackie) of Augusta, GA, Darta Murray, Detarsha Lumpkins (Tron), Derek, Cornelius, Samona, Jade, and Jocelyn, all of St. Petersburg, FL; devoted neighbors, Deacon Edmond and Theresa Johnson and Germaine Walker; devoted caregiver, Dorothy Parris; Sister Cue also leaves behind a host of very loving and sorrowing friends.
