A Time To Be Born:  Brother Raphael B. Nelson was born April 6, 1934 in Kingston,  Jamaica  to the late Nathaniel Nelson and Mable Nelson.
A Time To Live And Work: In his early years he attended school  in  Kingston,  Jamaica.  After  leaving Kinston  he traveled to the USA where  he established his citizenship as an American Citizen. As a young  man he made Brooksville, Florida  his  home,   where  he  began  his work  history as a seasonal worker. He later became  an employee of Brooksville Rock. After a time Brother Nelson left Brooksville Rock and entered  into  employment  with Gulf Oil Chemical, where he remained until his retirement. Our  family is  so  blessed  to  have  such  a great father, grandfather, great-grandfather, patriarch and friend.
A Time To Depart For Eternal Rest:     Raphael  B. Nelson departed this life on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at his home in Brooksville, Florida.
A Time To Mourn:  Brother Raphael B. Nelson was a devoted husband,  loving  father  and an extraordinary grandfather and  great-grandfather.  He  was preceded in death by his wife,  sister Mary Frances  Nelson and  his oldest son Chester Ray Roach. He leaves to cherish his  memory:   Two sons,  Raphael  Nelson, Jr. (Wilma)  of Anniston, AL and Lloyd Nelson (Leslie) of Largo, FL; Four daughters, Margie Watkins (Tim) of Summerfield, FL, Frances V. Grimsley (Jimmy) of Crystal  River,  FL,  Patricia Ann  Maner  (Garrett) of Ocala, FL  and  Valerie   Williams   (Arthell)    of  Brooksville,    FL; daughter-in-law, Petra Roach of Tampa, FL; God-daughter,  Loretta  Robinson  (Dale)  of  Spring  Hill, FL;  sister-in-law, Gertrude   Roach  of  Tampa,  FL;  Three  brothers, Nathaniel Nelson (Malvie), Percival Nelson and Sylvester Nelson (Connie all of Kingston, Jamaica and One sister, Arthules Small of Kingston, Jamaica. He  leaves  behind  twenty    grandchildren,       twenty-nine great-grandchildren, a  host  of cherished nieces, cousins, nephews and sorrowing friends.Â
