Obituary for Raymond E. Walk
Raymond E. Walk was born in Birmingham, AL on March 10, 1951. His parents were the late Johnny and Susie Walk. Raymond was the youngest of eight children. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Walk, James Walk, John Walk and Douglas Walk.
Raymond was raised in Birmingham, AL where he attended Wenonah High School. Raymond moved to Brooksville, FL in 1971. He worked at Vulcan Materials, where he worked his way up to supervisor of the night shift. He stayed at Vulcan Materials until his retirement in 1995. Raymond dedicated his life to Christ in 1977, and was a member of Bethlehem Progressive Baptist Church, Brooksville, FL and later fellowshipped with Grace World Outreach Church.
Raymond loved to work and figure out complicated situations. He could figure out anything. Raymond was especially interested in carpentry, cars, computers and technology. Raymond always had a smile on his face and a caring message to give, even when he did not feel well.
Raymond leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Corine Walk; children, Shanea Walk, Willie Gilyard (Mary) and Tyrone Carter (Essie); grandchildren, Tyreese Ransom, Lakeisha Gilyard, James Gilyard, Eboni Carter, Shaniquia Carter, Elizabeth Carter, Obadiah Carter, Ezekiel Carter, Ellexes Carter and ElShaddia Carter; great grandchildren, Shamari Clark, Rashawn Gilyard and Richard L. Hart III; sisters, Josie Williams, Sadie Watson, Hattie Dukes and Susie Dixon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
