Brother Robert H. Huggins, Sr.
Robert Huggins was born the third of five children born to the late Lanney and Annie Huggins on September 11, 1943 in Brooksville, FL.
Robert attended and graduated from Moton High School in Brooksville, FL and continued his education at Gibbs Junior College in St. Petersburg, FL. Robert played baseball in the minor league in St. Petersburg, FL. He was a devoted member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Brooksville, where he was a member of the trustee board, served as a steward, usher and was president of the Senior Choir. He also served on the Hernando County Minister Layman Alliance and was president of the Hernando Male Chorus.
Robert retired from Pepsi Cola after 30 years of employment as a forklift and computer operator.
Robert enjoyed singing to the highest, his song favorite was, “Let Jesus Lead You All the Way”. While he was ill, he praised and sang even more; he also enjoyed fishing and football.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Diann Huggins; three sons, Carlos Timmons (Julia) of Jacksonville, FL, Andrew Timmons (Jen) and Robert Huggins, Jr. (Tomeka) of St. Petersburg, FL; four daughters, Tina Haygood-Tanner (Raymond), Tameka Haygood, Kim Haygood and Felecia Mobley (Robin) all of Brooksville, FL; one sister, Sarah Bennett of Brooksville, FL; one aunt, Inez Inmon of St. Petersburg, FL; mother-in-law, Ruby Revell; four brothers-in-law, Nathaniel, Jeffery, Joseph all of Brooksville, FL and Michael (Lisa) of Dallas, TX; nineteen grandchildren; special nephews, Victor Bennett (Christi) of Lacoochee, FL, Carmen Bennett (Andrea) and Khalil Bennett of Brooksville, FL and Robert Lawson (Wanda) of Daytona Beach, FL; special niece, Tiffany Adams (Eric) and Bonnie Townsend of Brooksville, FL; nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and special friend and neighbor, Johnnie Hudson.
Flowers may be delivered to the funeral home starting at 9 am, Friday, July 21, 2017.
