Samuel Willis was born January 16, 1949 to the union of the late John Willis, Sr. and Beulah Willis. Samuel entered into the loving arms of our Lord Most High, on the morning of March 4, 2013. He was 64 years old.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was added to Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, where he remained as an active member until his demise.
He attended and graduated Moton High School. He was employed with Bell South, now known as AT&T as a service technician for 40 years, where he retired.
Samuel was a loving husband to his wife Yvette Willis, of 21 years. A caring and providing father to three sons and two daughters. A grandfather to three generations, brother, uncle, cousin and a friend. Samuel was preceded in death by father, John Willis, Sr. and son, Samuel Willis, Jr.
He leaves to cherish is life and memories, a loving and devoted family; his wife, Yvette Willis; mother, Beulah Willis; sons, Andretti Willis (Andrea) and LeAndre Wright (Tamecia); two daughters, Tanesha Taylor (Daymond) and Katura Pressley (Johnny); nine grandchildren, Torrion Willis, Daynea Taylor, DayQuond Taylor, DayKiva Taylor, Romelo Brooks, Andretti Willis, Jr., LeAndre Wright, Jr. , KeShaundre Wright and Kha’meil Wright; two great grandchildren, Haleii and Hasoni; four brothers, Bernard Willis (Daisy), Calvin Willis, Frederick Willis and John Willis, Jr.; three sisters, Erma Roach (Rick), Karen Roberts (Norman) and Arlene Franklin (James); mother-in-law, Alease Smith; two sisters-in-law, Arvette Smith and Katryna Gaskins (Kalvosie); three brothers-in-law, Kevin Smith (Annette), Lawrence Smith and Leonard Smith; three God-daughters, Elsie Burnett, Ajavee Gaskin and Kendra Collins; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
