Willie Edward Brown, Sr. Was one of ten children born to Samuel and Ruby “Ola Mae” Brown. He was born August 17, 1941 in St. Petersburg, FL. He attended school in the Hernando County Public School System and was an alumni at Moton High School.

Growing up in Brooksville, FL with humble beginnings proved to be difficult and challenging, yet it made him closer to his sisters and brothers who would always find joy and humor in the midst of it all. In his early years he discovered that he and his siblings were creative, talented and could sing and sing well. He loved singing with his brothers who later became known within the family as “The Brown Boys”. Willie also had a great interest in playing the drums which he developed an exceptional skill for.

Having nicknames such as Tyrone, Tata Red, Buster Brown and Lil’ Bro Willie was indeed a man of many gifts and talents. He was an exceptional singer who loved music of all genres. Besides a musician and a drummer, he was a great dancer, a talented artist, a barbeque extraordinaire  and an expert checker player. He loved to learn, he was fascinated and very knowledgeable of animals and reptiles. He loved all sports! He loved the games like The Price is Right and Jeopardy and would answer the majority of his questions correctly. More than anything he loved his family and often reached out to young people to give them guidance and advice about living their best life.

As a young man, Willie worked as dishwasher, a cook, a butcher, and he was employed at Daytona beach Linen Service for many years. He would also sing in the local clubs and played the drums for the band, Big Wright and the Fabulous Play Boys. For a time he was employed at Florida Crushed Stone in Brooksville, FL, but it was his employment with CSX Railroad Company as a Bridgeman that he would be dedicated to and later retire from.

He (Willie) believed in prayer and would absolutely never go to bed without getting  down o his knees and pray. He was not in church every Sunday, but he did receive Jesus Christ as his Savior before his Alzheimers  eventually progressed. He touched many lives, was loved by many and he will never be forgotten.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Cora Mae Brown of Spring Hill, FL; his three children, Adriene Brown of Spring Hill, FL, Willie E. Brown, Jr. (Tramelanie) of Ocoee, FL and Arleen Dorn of Spring Hill, FL (Kenneth) of Apopka, FL; 7 grandchildren, Tawanna Brown, Kevin Brown (deceased), Stephen Dorn, Rachel Dorn, Jonathan Dorn, London Brown, Dakota Brown; 3 great-grandchildren, Jaylen Brown, Stephen Dorn, Jr. and Josha Dorn; 4 sisters, Mary Lou Ingram of Tampa, FL, Leola Brown of Brooksville, FL, Patricia Peoples of Sanford, FL and Lynda Brown of Sanford, FL; 5 brothers, James A.
