Sister Willie Mae Strother was born to Louella Strother and Willie Gibbs on June 22, 1964 in Uniontown, Alabama. Willie Mae attended Hernando High School and received her General Education Diploma from Hernando County Adult Education Center. She subsequently obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant License and worked at Heron Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center for nine years.
Sister Willie Mae was a member of Holy Band D.T. Brooksville for several years. She later moved her membership to Encouraging Words Ministries where she was an active member and served as an usher in the Lord’s Army.
She leaves to cherish her memories; a loving mother, Louella Strother; three sons, Clifton Warren, Cedric Strother and Rodney Owens, Jr. all of Brooksville, FL; one daughter, Taniya Owens of Brooksville, FL; six brothers, Mitchell Strother of Brooksville, FL, Reuben Taylor (Kristi) of Inkster, MI, Michael Taylor, Robert Taylor, Walter Taylor III all of Brooksville, FL and Ricky Taylor of Temple Terrace, FL; one sister, Michelle Taylor of Brooksville, FL; five grandchildren, Cedrick Strother, Jr., Cedreon Strother, D’Marion Strother, Ta’Nia Strother and Ta’Mia Strother; three loving aunts, Mary Brown, Evangelist Rebecca Pope and Mariah Frazier all of Brooksville, FL; one uncle, Mitchell Strother, Jr. (Pat) of Tampa, FL; a devoted friend Rodney Owens, also Tomeka Scrivens who was like a daughter to her; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends including Walter Taylor whom she held in high esteem; other aunts and uncles of the Gibbs Family.
