Dr. David Eugene Thompson, Sr., was born in Brooksville, Florida on September 14, 1940 to Aucilla and Rosetta Thompson Sr. He departed this life on December 30th, 2014 at the age of 74 .
He was preceded in death by: Son, David Eugene Thompson, Jr., and Brother, Aucilla Thompson Jr.
Dr. Thompson joined Silver Mount Baptist Church on January 9th, 2005. He was an active member of the church. He was a member of the Finance Team and he volunteered in the Food Assistance Ministry.
Dr. Thompson was a born educator,   his career in education is listed as; North Carolina College of Theology- Doctor of Theology, Bible/Biblical Studies 2008-2010, South Carolina State University- Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services 1992-1996, University of South Carolina- Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services 1970-1980, Florida A&M University- Master's Degree, Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services 1963-1966, and Florida A&M University- Bachelor's Degree, Physical Education Teaching and Coaching 1957-1962.
Dr. Thompson was  interested in New Technology, Reading, Cars, Cooking, Physical Fitness, Gardening and Sports.
He leaves to cherish his memories, Children, David A. Chatman and spouse, Victor Chatman of Austin, Texas, Dione Thompson of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Delvin Thompson of Atlanta, Georgia. Grandchildren, Jordan Thompson of Columbia, South Carolina, Sheldon Thompson and Syndie Chatman of Austin, Texas. Sibling, Dr. Deloris White of Atlanta, GA.
And a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
