“Mae Rock”
Mary S. “Mae” Brown was born on March 14, 1936 to the late Mitchell Strother and Matilda Johnson in Uniontown, AL. She met and married Joe Brown on March 08, 1957, to this union 4 beautiful daughter were born.
Mary worked in the hospitality field for over 30 years as a cook. She loved her family and extended family very much and always showed her genuine love to them. Mary was a member of Holy Band D.T. Inc. for a period of time, under the leadership of Bishop Harry Brown, she later moved her membership to Josephine Street COLG under the leadership of Bishop Theodore Brown, where she remained until the time of her demise.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, four daughters, Juanita Straughter (Delroy), Catherine Randlph (Larry), Lucinda Crosby and Sharon Brown; twelve grandchildren, Nicole, REma, Coyitita Henry (Gean, Jr.), Angel Parks (ryan), Tekelia, Maurice, Kimberly, Joe, Jeremiah, Darryl, RuShawn and Elyard; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Rebecca Pope, Mariah Strother and Luela Straughter; one brother, Mitchell Straughter (Pat); three brothers-in-law, Robert Brown (Emily), Theodore Brown (Gladys) and Leon C. Brown (Mary); four sisters-in-law, Marie Brown, Frances Brown, Juanita Washington and Sally Gates; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. God is a just God and He knows best, so he came along with a warm embrace and laid her to rest to be with Him in Heaven.
Heaven has looked down on Mary.
